How Geothermal Works
Geothermal systems use ground source heat pumps to transfer heat energy between your home and the earth.
During winter months, the heat pump transfers heat from the Earth to your home. The process is reversed during summer months, transferring heat from your home back to the earth.
The heat pump produces a portion of your domestic hot water during the cooling season at no additional cost.
Geothermal is an investment
Geothermal systems offer an average 20% return on investment. Reduced energy consumption means smaller utility bills. Geothermal systems require little or no annual maintenance, and are the most cost effective HVAC system available.
The US government currently supports geothermal installations with an uncapped 30% tax credit.
